isohybrid on Mageia 10

Postby lloyd » May 10th, '26, 16:02

I am trying to to create a hybrid ISO using isohybrid. (on a non-hybrid ISO)
However, I'm not having much luck
I type in:

isohybrid <filename.iso> and I get this message every time...

unexpected boot catalogue parameters

What parameters is it expecting?

What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it?

Thank you.

After
Code: Select all
isohybrid <filename.iso>
If you haven't already you might try
Code: Select all
dd if=<filename.iso> of=/dev/sdX
with /dev/sdX being path to drive..CAUTION - the dd command will erase drive

Not parameters like command line parameters, but this is about the contents of the ISO, it is expecting a valid El Torito sector.
Have a look at the answer at https://unix.stackexchange.com/question ... -windows-7

And maybe https://vdmkenny.github.io/blog/posts/2 ... os-update/ for an alternative.

Although you didn't mention - what ISO this is actually about, and what is the actual problem you're trying to solve ?
