Megasync outdated?

Postby fmolina2b » Feb 20th, '26, 16:16

Hi all,
I am having trouble syncing my megasync folders between Mageia linux and windows boxes. It seems that the megasync desktop client in Mageia 9 is outdated, it is 5.2.x, whereas the current version is 6.1 (I found somewhere that should be >= 5.9 to sync correctly). Further, the blogdrake repository, where it used to be newer versions, is down. Will the version in Mageia 9 be updated sometime soon or we need to wait for M 10 working?
Thanks

Hi there, you should probably ask the packager that provided the packages you're using, as those are not Mageia packages.
See https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=12132 - you can try to ping José (katnatek), he's still active from what I've seen.

You could also simply download the current client from their website, or only megasync from https://github.com/meganz/MEGAsync

edit: FWIW, blogdrake repos are unreachable since two days. details: https://blogdrake.net/consulta/reposito ... e-servicio

Thanks, but it looks like I'll have to wait until the blogdrake server is up again. The rpms in the mega site all want glibc 2.38 (current in Mga 9 is 2.36). I'll try to post in https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=12132
