LVM

After installing Mageia 9 with LVM - and rebooting - GRUB shows the message "LVMID ... not found".
I created the following partitions:
1. BIOS-Boot
2. Encrypted LVM-Volumegroup with the Volumes Root, Swap and Home.

Hi there,

you may want to add some more details. Also in the error message, the lvm ID shown is for which LV ?
Also is that the same error message as in https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33788 ?

FWIW I also installed Mageia 9 using LVM over LUKS, and did not end up with that error message on first boot.

As suggested in the link, I tried with /boot in the volumegroup - without success.
I think, using Veracrypt is an alternative.

My usual take on this is having an unencrypted /boot, and then a large LUKS encrypted pv, used by LVM for /, swap, and /home. Always works for me.

yes /, swap and /home as lv:s in one vg, using one LUKS encrypted pv. And a separate partition for /boot, All set up by installer. If UEFI also a partition for that.

Separate partition for /boot is NOT required, that can also be inside the LVM, as mentioned in the bugreport.

This is what it looks like here, for a dual-boot install with windows:
