[SOLVED] Unable to Update Mageia 9

Hello,

I have run into an error when I tried to update my system using the Mageia Control Centre. Please see attached screenshot.

I also tried to run the update from the command line and got the following error:

[brad@localhost ~]$ sudo urpmi --auto-update
[sudo] password for brad:
mirror list not found
Could not find a mirror from mirrorlist $MIRRORLIST
[brad@localhost ~]$


This is happening on both my laptops, so two separate installations. Did something change or do I need to update something else?

Hi there, best remove all repos and add a full set without using MIRRORLIST: https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Installing_a ... dia_Mirror

I tried following the instructions in the wiki and got an error pop-up (see attached screenshot).

I confirmed I have internet access via ping. I am not sitting behind any sort of VPN or firewall.

I have he same problem occurs from MCC and the command line.
For example:

mirror list not found
found geolocalisation US 34.05 -117.76 from timezone America/Los_Angeles
Could not find a mirror from mirrorlist $MIRRORLIST
unlocking urpmi database

It appears most of the Mageia 9 mirrors are down. See https://mirrors.mageia.org/status
I have notified the Mageia team via the Discuss email list and the problem is being investigated.

I just ran into that too. Had to remove/re-add sources. All good now.

Edit: I did not use mirrorlist. I added a specific mirror in my country.

This was an infrastructure problem and has now been repaired. $MIRRORLIST should be able to be used again.

I just was able to update my system so I will now mark this resolved.
