Kmail stuck and not sending messages [DONE]

Hello!
I am having a problem with Kmail (kmail2 5.23.3 (23.04.3)) and can't find a solution anywhere. Any time a try to send an e-mail, it gets stuck, with busy cursor and no error message. Trying to start on a console does not reveal any error message. I have another computer with Kontact installed and it works fine there. However, since no one else is complaining here, I cannot say it's Mageia related. Does anyone have tips for me to at least troubleshoot the problem?
Thanks

I searched but didn't find a lot of relevant info. Maybe here:

https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/kmail/k ... -sent.html

I had already found that page.
Code: Select all
kquitapp kmail
does not work. I also tried to log off and on again and restart the computer. I also uninstalled and installed kontact, but it did not solve the problem. What could I have made wrong?

Hello,

did you try to reconfigure or remove/configure again your SMTP connection details ?
Also check if it's actually the correct SMTP server in your default identity.

Also, how long did you actually wait for kmail to send your message, and was there any error or so ?

You could also check the akonadi console if you see something obvious, like mail dispatcher being offline or so.

https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php%3Ff=20&t=97153.html

You could also try to enable SMTP debug logging if that's actually your issue:

I decided to remove all akonadi folders and set up everything again, but despite removing ~/.local/share/akonadi/, ~/.config/akonadi/, and every config file and folder related to mail transport, not everything was gone. Does anyone know how to remove everything and start over?

akonadi only has the mails and contacts, but the configuration for your account in kmail is separate from that.
Might help if you would mentioned what wasn't gone.

The IMAP accounts where removed, but the SMTP ones not. Also the profiles where not removed.

Not actually solved. I had to remove all the dot folders and start all over again. The solution is no solution. However, there are some people here that are really trying to help, which is much appreciated, and I don't need them to look into it anymore.
Thanks to Germ and doktor5000.

As you say it's not solved I've marked it accordingly.
