installing a flatpak repository

I'm trying to install the flatpak flathub repository. I'm not having much luck. I followed the instructions in the Mageia wiki. I THINK I got the repository installed correctly....I'm not sure about that.
But when I try to install a program (Chromium, for example), I get an error saying there is no summary file on the server. I did manage to get this installed and running...once.
I think that may have been more by chance than anything else. I wish I could remember what I did.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I authored our page https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Flatpak
If something can be improved please tell - or just go ahead and edit :)

I see the repo link on the page Germ gave is now different than when I wrote our page: https://dl.flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo (".dl" added), however, both curently provides binary identically files.

What does
Code: Select all
$ flatpak remotes
say?

there must have been something wrong with my flatpak remote installation.
I deleted it, and tried again. It worked perfectly the second time. After rebooting, I was ready to install apps.

One thing I found unusual is that the Mageia-supplied version of the Chromium web browser will not let me watch shows from my TV provider,
but the exact same version number of the flatpak version will....

Maybe some codec is missing.
I dont know if it may have helped to install some codec package additionally.
But anyway our Chromium have not been updated for too long - better use an updated flatpak.

You may follow the Chromium update bug and test and feedback this issue if a new gets built.
- There is still some effort now and then, it seems.
