SOLVED keyboard not recognized after new ssd installed

Hi,
Using mageia 9. I have a toshiba L50-b with 8 gig ram. I am trying to move to a ssd, When I use the mageia 9 on a usb stick I boot into the screen. The problem is that the keyboard is not recognized so I cannot enter any commands. At the grub the up and down keys will not function. The mouse is supported after boot. Using the mouse I have entered the plasma setup and selected the keyboard from hardware. I tried entering different keyboard configurations but none are accepted. I am sending this post from an older laptop. I will not be able to execute any commands on the laptop. I need to access an onscreen keyboard for the moment. Thank you.

I assume your install before SSD was also Mageia 9, on spinning disk, and it worked?
Maybe installed from install iso, then updated.

So maybe make an updated Mageia Live would work. Try, using persistence, without encryption.

Possible workaround until real problem solved: do you have a USB keyboard to plug into the laptop?

Or try another Live system. My favourite for servicing work is https://www.system-rescue.org/

Hi,
Cannot believe my actions. On removal of the hd I had accidentally dislocated the keyboard connection strip. The hd is kept in place not using screws but a rubber wrap. Thanks for all your help.
