kmail 23.04-3

I'm trying to like kmail, but it's really frustrating. If it isn't one thing, it's another. Recently, it started acting weird and came up with an error about collections causing a problem.
I found a workaround on bugs.kde.org (bug # 339214). That fixed one problem (apparently this bug is ten years old!)
Now for the real problem. Kmail sends/receives mail fine. The problem is that it won't render the emails, that is, I can open them, but they appear to be blank. No text, no links, not even ads.
Any idea how I can fix this?
Thank you.

I ran kmail-refresh-settings. That fixed it. Once.
Apparently, the problem has returned. I have no idea what it could be. Everything else works fine.
Messages can be sent/received. I'm just unable to read them.
Any ideas?
Thank you.

Yesterday I had the same error, but only once. I have two installations of Mageia 9. Removing the local trash folder fixed it. I have no local mail, but 2 IMAP accounts.
Imagine, how should a developer debug a problem, he is unable to reproduce?
No other problem since then. I guess that KMail needs Akonadi for the correct exposure, not only for searching. So try as user
- Code: Select all
$ akonadictl fsck
If it doesn't help
- Code: Select all
$ akonadictl vacuum
Best regards,
Bequimão

I tried both of those. It didn't make any difference

I assume that you are running Mageia 9 KDE Plasma, and that any other application is ok. I don"t see any recent software update that may have affected kmail. The only idea is now to restore from backup or test in a newly created user.

It was at a point where I couldn’t even open kmail. I deleted kontact and kmail
and re-installed them. No difference. I finally deleted local folders with akonadiconsole.
That worked, but I lost all my mail. Fortunately, it’s alldownloaded in Thunderbird
