What is a replacement for ksysguard?
Plasma-systemmonitor isn't in MCC

plasma-systemmonitor is in the repo. Do a search in rpmdrake (Install and Remove Software).

Search of install/remove software returns 0 results for plasma-systemmonitor
I just set this laptop up, the repositories seem normal core release, non-free, Tainted

If your sources are configured correctly, it is there.
what is the output of:

urpmq --list-media active

root to install plasma-systemmonitor:

It's even called System Monitor
I had MCC set for GUI, when I switched to all, plasma systemmonitor is visible

I noticed you didn't have the tainted repo active. Lots of multimedia stuff in there.
