Emerald on Mageia [Guide]

Please move this if its posted in the wrong place. Thanks! I have not seen a post on this so I thought I would make one

Steps to installing emerald on Mageia

Download file


open and extract folder to Downloads directory

su
"your password"
cd Downloads
cd emerald
urpmi emerald-0.8.4-2mdv2010.1.x86_64.rpm emerald-themes-0.6.0-0.20080210.3mdv2011.0.noarch.rpm lib64emerald0-0.8.4-2mdv2010.1.x86_64.rpm


Go to system
Preferences
Startup Applications
Add
Name: Emerald
Command: emerald --replace
Comment: Emerald Theme Manager

Then log out and log back in

It is working wonderful. :) Thanks rolltide101x.

Also fusion-icon is used to work emerald theme.

These packages must be added in the repository.

Just do a search in Bugzilla to see if someone has already requested the package, and if not, put in a new bug report against Mageia 1 and make it clear in the description that it is a package present in Mandriva 2010.2 that is not present in Mageia 1 and if an interested packager picks it up it will be imported into Mageia and put into the Core>Updates repository.

No problem :mrgreen: lol
For some reason I couldnt get it to work with fusion-icon so I just added it to startup. It started up with Fusion but I couldnt change the theme. I can not remember if I restarted after I installed it. That may have been it

Also would this be the correct place to post things like this? I could not see a more logical area and when I run into undocumented things I try to post it somewhere to give someone a reference.

1- Download file.

2- Open and extrect folder to Downloads directory.


3- Press F4 and enter urpmi * command as of root

4- Emerald is ran with fusion-icon.

5- Emerald is ready for use.
