Can't get mega Mario to close out after playing for a while. Hangs and can't exit. Have to totally power down and reboot. Any ideas ?

Hi there,
some more information would be helpful, like what Mageia version and what desktop environment you use, and what graphics driver ?

What do you mean by "offers compiz fusion" ?

There won't be any changes since this is basically unmaintained since over 12 years.
You may want to run it from a terminal to see if there are any messages or hints what goes wrong.

Apart from that, feel free to try out a different clone like SMC: http://www.secretmaryo.org/

logout rather than reboot ( CTRL+ALT+Backspace)

If you really need this fixed, please create a bug report for this issue.
If you have not created a bug report before, see here => https://wiki.mageia.org/en/How_to_report_a_bug_properly

If the devs are able to fix it, they will, but:

You could also simply try the equivalent of xkill - Ctrl+Alt+Esc and click on the window.

Thanks for the reply, Put a couple of games on to play around with looking for worminator-3 which I played years ago. It worked well but not so good now. Only available in 64 bit now but don't want to mess up my Mageia 9 install which I just got installed after letting 8 go on past end of life. Been using linux since Mandrake and Mandriva and this is the first time it's installed or updated without a hitch, probably because I dual boot with Windows 10 which I have to have for a few programs I run not available in linux. Not a wiz with linux but I get by. Thanks again for the help.
