[SOLVED] Mageia 9 - Gnome Suspend/Sleep issues

Hello everyone!

Here I just continue the tread that was started here:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=15130

So, the main problem is, that after suspend/sleep the screen remains black. As a temporary solution, I turned off "Screen Blank" and "Automatic Power Saver" in the Power Settings. But it doesn't always work, maybe by 60%.

The second solution I tried was installing a newer kernel 6.5.11 from the Cauldron/Testing repository. In fact, all the problems with suspend/sleep mode disappeared after installing the new kernel from Cauldron/testing, but I had so many other problems with sound, the overall slowness of the system, the sensitivity of the touchpad, etc., that it cannot be considered as a good solution.

Well, I do not know how to fix this problem, but it seems to be a problem with the kernel.

Try if kernel-linus works better. (less patched by us)

Yes, the same symptoms even so my particular model (CB3-431) is not on that list. I have 3 identical models of CB3-431 Chromebooks in my household and on two of them I installed Spiral Linux(Debian 12) that runs without any suspend/sleep problems at all, but it has many other unfixed problems with sound system, that are not on Mageia 9, that's why I choose Mageia for my Chromebooks.

Thanks a lot @morgano for your suggestion to try the clean (not patched) kernel-linus 6.4.16.
Now everything is working properly well and I really happy to have it fixed.
Should I indicate somewhere that the issue is solved/fixed?

P.S.

Right now I'm planing to prepare an article/instruction of how to install and setup Mageia 9 Linux on the Chromebook model cb3-431 and why..? I think Chromebooks have many advantages.

Provided with the correct information, would you be so kind, to mark the topic solved.
You can do so, by writing [SOLVED] leftwards of the topic-title in your first message.
Thanks ahead. ;)

You may also want to try the upcoming 6.5 series

Currently 6.5.11-2 in core/backports_testing

Article for chromebook would be nice :)
Optimally in our wiki. Ask for rights if you do not have already.

Hello! I tried the kernel-linus 6.5.11-2 that came with the last update. But I got immediately an issue with sound by watching any movie using celluloid/mpv players. After 5 minutes of watching videos it came a terrible and annoying voice that I couldn't stop but only restarting the laptop. So, I tried two times and by the last restart I did choose kernel 6.4.16 and I'll stick with this one since it's good. I didn't test anything else with the new kernel, such as Suspend, microphone and etc... Honestly, I don't understand why you need the kernel 6.5.* version if it's already considered as outdated and not anymore supported? Why not go straight to the LTS version 6.6.* with long time support? I know that it's better to submit a bug, but let's wait until other users report something similar to my experience! Also I don't see much difference between 6.4 and 6.5 in terms of speed and general behavior.
