Ever since the recent update boinc won't connect to localhost, it was working fine before then. Has anybody any ideas as how to get it to connect. I'm not technical just a user! Thanks.

Strange, mine just keeps on working like before.

One quirk, like before: I have mine start by a shell script that Plasma start when I log in, that launch boincmgr. After boot I need to wait a few seconds before logging in to desktop, or else boincmgr silently fail. No idea why.
So here system is not starting it as a service.

What is your set up, how do you start it?

I start by using boinc manager gui.

I started it using terminal (boincmgr). Now works!!
