I have a chance of getting a small laptop with a Processor Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N3050 @ 1.60GHz processor. It only has 2 gig of ram. Just wondering if it is worth it. Thanks.

There are plenty of benchmarks, hardware reviews, and other stuff available. So you could google as example the CPU and compare to your requirements.

IMHO you won‘t have much fun with such a system. But it depends on what you want to do with it. Simple text editing and listening to music: shouldn‘t be a problem. Using „heavy“ desktop environments: less fun. Gaming, video, editing, compiling, anything usefull: forget it!

I have a laptop with a Celeron 2 GHz and 2 GB RAM. Runs Mageia 8 great. It just a little slow on some things.

I'd give it a try.

That dual core Celeron should probably do just fine for what i do...

Performance is sometimes a mystery.

My wife have in her workshop a laptop for music and occasional surfing.
It used to be a Thinkpad T43. 32 bit single core 1,6 GHz. Worked good enough, but a bit big for the location.
Upgraded it, i thought, to an Aspire One - Atom N450 dual 64 bit core 1,66 GHz: Terribly sluggish!
Now I see why my friend dumped it here...

Whether or not it is worth it depends on the price, what storage it has, and what you want to do with it.

Likely will work OK with a light desktop if you want to browse the net, check email, message over signal, telegram, skype, and so forth.

Might play videos OK; don't know. But for anything beyond that, it won't be much good.
