installing streamripper and deadbeef [SOLVED]

Postby rmcellig » Nov 17th, '21, 16:12

I am brand new to Mageia and am REALLY looking forward to trying it out!!

One issue I have and I never had this with other distros is that I am unable to install streamripper and deadbeef. It doesn't seem to appear in the repos. Do I have have to add a specific repo? I know in Opensuse and Fedora I usually install the packman repo and the fedora fusion repo as well.

Thanks for the help in advance!!!!!

To find streamripper in the Software center, make sure that you set the searchfilter to "All" as seen in the screenshot:

For deadbeef you have to make sure that the "tainted" repo is activ. (Make sure that you have a complete set of repos). For activation see here:
https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Software_management

If you still have problems you can show us an output of following command. It lists which repositorys are activated:
Code: Select all
urpmq --list-media active --list-url

You should deactivate
Code: Select all
Nonfree Backports
Tainted Backports

You are missing:
Code: Select all
Core 32bit release
Nonfree 32bit release
Tainted 32bit release

Here is an additional explanation:
