Code: Select all
urpmi --clean

see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/URPMI#Failed_downloads

And then try again

If still problems, try another mirror (and --clean)

It would help if yoiu would mention what mirror you are using. Either post the output of
Code: Select all
urpmq --list-media active --list-url

or directly check at https://mirrors.mageia.org/status for the mirror you're using and maybe add a new set of repos from another mirror.

solved!
urpmi --clean
solved the issue
I was having intermittent Internet issues because of a faulty telephone line and the ADSL going crazy. Now I upgraded to a better 5G service and also solved the faulty line.
Maybe that was the original cause of my headaches! Who knows!
Thanks
And that is why it took so long for me to answer... Sorry...

By the way: Why is not sudo installed by default in Mageia? I used su - that is quite dangerous and later I found I can install sudo and use it instead that IMHO is safer...

Tradition i guess...
I too usually install sudo. Well it is dangerous too...
