Upgraded to Mga 8 but cannot change icons' size

Yesterday my system went through online upgrade from 7 to 8. Everything was smooth, after restart went to some updates and now is running fine, except that I cannot resize my plasma desktop icons. Were small before upgrade, now are big (48x48). I opened system preferences -> Icons, clicked on configure icons size, set desktop to 32, and the 22, apply, but nothing happens. Also tried changing theme from oxygen to brisa, but no luck.
Everything else looks fine
