[Solved]Login failed

Hello

I recently changed the .Xauthority file to user root but did not realize .
Since that I can not login.

For a low skilled linux user like me I am not able todo anything.
I have read other post and get the clue that I have to change or delete the .Xauthority file.

So would it be not better to inform the user when such things happen
that he or she should be aware of changing the permission.

From the login screen I would be thanksfull to get a information that something prevented me from
loggin in. So I have no idea what's going on.

What can be the reason that the file permission changed?
The only thing I does was redirecting some information I needed to post here to my
local account. Was that the reason?

I used mageia7 for a long time and never got this problem.

This is confusing.

Either delete it or chown it back to your user/group.

This can happen when running the test function in drakx11.

The test button here, e.g. when changing graphic driver: https://doc.mageia.org/mcc/8/en/content ... ml#XFdrake

Hello

Yes that was the reason. :)
So like I said for low skilled linux user it would be nice to get warned before doing that.
I had no idea that a monitor test will prevent from login.

Well, it should not happen in the first place.
