my video card is Intel Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (Intel 810 and later). my processor is Celeron(R) Dual-Core CPU T3000 @ 1.80GHz. Neither blender nor davinci resolve start perhaps there is package that handles 3d acceleration that I need to install.

hi,

if you start either from terminal, is there any clues to a reason for the fail to launch: missing package, package incompatibility, or segmentation fault / core dump.
so, please post terminal output.

Code: Select all
$ blender
Error! Unsupported graphics card or driver.
A graphics card and driver with support for OpenGL 3.3 or higher is required.
The program will now close.

I believe my hardware is getting outdated. I could not launch it in any other distro either.

yes, looks like you will need to upgrade your hardware.

what does
Code: Select all
lspcidrake
return about your graphics card?
