Mageia 8 control center
disabling services works immediately.
enabling the services does not change the status, closing the "OK" window and reopening the services window displays the change.

Well, drakxservices hasn't been updated since quite some time. You could report it as a bug.
Although I've reported one a few years ago, and it's still present: https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16935

Make one change - either starting or stopping a service - then exit the service manager.

Then, restart the service manager, make one more change, then exit.

Rinse and repeat.

This way will work. Should it be this way? No. But you do what the software will allow you to do.

Mageia 7, works properly. Stop the service, the message is stopped. Start, the message running. Works well.
I expect the same in Mageia-8.
