Eight is great / MATE Brisk menu

First let me say that v.8 is a great release. I have not used Mageia in a few years because I no longer had DSL/broadband at home. I have no idea what the situation is in Europe, but here in the US, many people do not have Ethernet at home, so wireless is the only option. Libraries only have wireless for the most part, so if someone does not have Ethernet at home, they won't be able to find it. Mageia v.7 was a PITA for wireless users with respect to installation, but v.8 was fairly easy to install.

I'm using MATE. I hate the Applications-Places-System menu and always try to use Brisk menu. Mageia offers its Compact menu, which isn't bad, but I could not find a way to install Brisk menu. Are there plans to add it to core or non-free repositories?

Hi there, from what I remember for mga7, brisk menu was broken. Have a look at viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13711
Although brisk-menu has since been updated to 0.6.2 and is in the regular repository, located in core_release.

Thanks for the reply. Ubuntu MATE's Brisk menu was broken for a while and the crashing was annoying. I guess I'll stick with Compact menu.
