Hello,
with the order "sudo dnf install pdfarranger" I have installed the PDF Arranger. Now it is installed and I have it in the start menu. But it does not start. When I try to start it in the konsole I'll get the follwoing text:

What's the intention behind those locale settings ? Not sure how you set those, but en_DE is not a valid locale that we ship, nor does it really make sense.

Either you set it to something valid like e.g. LC_MESSAGES=en_GB.UTF-8 and the rest to de_DE.UTF-8, or you need to create your own custom locale definition.
You can check what locales you have installed via

sorry, but you are wrong. "Germany - English (en_DE)" is a usual setting (System Settings - Regional Settings - Formats - Region) that comes with Mageia too.
And sorry again. Your order "locales -a" is wrong too. Here are the settings for "locale -a":

Why should I look at any codes?
"Germany - English (en_DE)" is a usual option not only in Mageia. But in Mageia it does not work! I would like to wish that you will fix it in the next version of Mageia.

For me I found a solution that works in Mageia. The problem is solved and PDF Arranger is working.

That does not change the fact, that en_DE is not a locale that we ship, hence the warnings you got

Which does not produce any warnings at all.

Apart from that, you don't mention what your solution is ?

The only solution that is possible is to change it in de_DE. But I would like to have English menues.
What do you mean with "en_DE" is a locale that we do not ship"? It is fact that it is a locale that came with Mageia.

You don't seem to understand. en_DE is not a locale for which we ship locale definitions.
It's basically telling the system to display english messages, but keep regional settings like currency, collation, date format etc. in german.
It's still using german locale definitions for that but does not display german messages. It's only a setting in systemsettings, but not an actual locale.

Hence you've got the error messages as your locale setup was totally mixed up. As I mentioned, when you only change regional settings to "Germany - English (en_DE)" in systemsettings, that only thing that changes is that LANG is being set to en_DE.UTF-8
Which does not produce any warnings at all. So you have messed up your locale settings in some way or another.

I finally was thinking about Mageia. Many things do not work in the way I am used to it (see en_DE). The mouse works slow depending on the program surface and so on. Mageia is not bad. But I am back to Kubuntu even if the new LTS version has big bugs. But all together for me it is still the better choice. Sorry and thank you for your patience with me.

en_DE ? I didn't know that a part of Germany was speaking english !
The schema is "language_country", you will find a lot of "en_UK", "en_US", "en_CA", but all this countries are actualy english-speaker countries.
And, AFAIK, english is not a local dialect in gernany.

I believe you didn't get the use of all this local variables, you can set (what you want) to en_UK, for example to have the english menues, and de_DE for other things you wish.

Can you tell us which linux distribution ship an english language in germany ?

LC_TIME for german date/time format,
CTYPE for text conversion (uppercase to lowercase) (if I get it correctly)
COLLATE for triage (is 'S' before 'ß' ?) in german
MESSAGES in english.

FWIW, this thread seems to be a lost cause, as mentioned in last comment by OP and the [solve] marking.

systemsettings does something pretty simple. If you select "Germany - English (en_DE)" in systemsettings it exports LANG=en_DE.UTF-8 via ~/.config/plasma-locale-settings.sh
LANG should override all individual LC_ settings, and that also works without issues and does not generate errors as posted by OP.

OP had some weird mixup in his locale settings, but does not seem to tell us how to reproduce that.

Be aware of 2 different settings :
In MCC you can manage Localization .
Using Plasma in System Settings you can change Regional Settings for eg. numbers, time, dates and currency.

It makes a difference where you make the change.
