[SOLVED] Brisk Menu Crashes

Postby pnbalaji » Sep 19th, '20, 16:52

I just installed Mageia 7.1 MATE yesterday and I am setting up my PC to my liking. I prefer brisk menu rather than the classic mate menu, so I installed Brisk and added it to the panel. However, as soon as I add it to the panel, it is crashing immediately with the dialog box with options "Delete", "Do Not Reload" and "Reload" as shown in the attachment. Choosing Reload does not help and I tried it even after the reboot and the results are same.

Can someone help?

Thanks,
Balaji.

It's broken already since last year. See https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25043

if you want add the Greek repositories

Code: Select all
urpmi.addmedia --update 'mgr-x86_64' 'http://www.mageia-gr.org/rpm/7/x86_64/'
urpmi.addmedia --update 'mgr-noarch' 'http://www.mageia-gr.org/rpm/7/noarch/'

or install only the brisk-menu direct from here

http://www.mageia-gr.org/rpm/7/x86_64/b ... x86_64.rpm

i had the same problem like you, therefore i built the new release and it worked perfectly.

Would probably be helpful if you could comment on the linked bugreport since which release this is fixed, or if some patches are required or something like that. Preferrably even a diff against cauldron checkout of brisk-menu as that would ease if for other packagers to commit a fix.
