Hi all...using mageia 7.1 updated...with no apparent reason Pan does not load anymore...from the console I get the message :
Invalid size
Core dump

I uninstalled and reinstalled again but get the same message...
to make matter more complicated for me I tried with my junk account and there I can load Pan but I do not seem to be able to get a connection...
using nntp.aior.org:119

Any help will be appreciated...
TIA
Santo

That's strange, as there hasn't been any update to pan since mga7 release.

Could you get a backtrace from pan, and post it here please ?

Thanks for answring...first of all I am not an expert so I am not sure what you are asking me to do...anyway :

Code: Select all
[santo@localhost ~]$ gdb pan
GNU gdb (GDB) 8.2-8.1.mga7 (Mageia release 7)

Type "show copying" and "show warranty" for details.
This GDB was configured as "x86_64-mageia-linux-gnu".
Type "show configuration" for configuration details.

Find the GDB manual and other documentation resources online at:

For help, type "help".
Type "apropos word" to search for commands related to "word"...
Reading symbols from pan...Reading symbols from .gnu_debugdata for /usr/bin/pan...(no debugging symbols found)...done.
(no debugging symbols found)...done.
Missing separate debuginfos, use: debuginfo-install pan-0.145-2.mga7.x86_64
(gdb)

not really sure where to go from here...
Thanks again,

as suggested somewhere in another mageia forum where I could log in with my junk account I renamed .pan2 ( probably for some reason corrupted ) to .pan2.old
and restarted pan ...it worked
:-)
Thank for your help...
