[Solved] Slow Boot Mageia 7

Hello,

Instead of starting another new thread, I will ask my questions here. As the OP stated, I have a slow boot issue as well

Code: Select all
[root@jeevanism jeevan]# systemd-analyze
Startup finished in 4.335s (firmware) + 4.180s (loader) + 6.249s (kernel) + 54.434s (userspace) = 1min 9.200s
graphical.target reached after 53.853s in userspace

Code: Select all
[root@jeevanism jeevan]# systemd-analyze blame | head
         10.386s postfix.service
          9.388s udisks2.service
          9.273s systemd-journal-flush.service
          8.451s NetworkManager-wait-online.service
          8.436s mandriva-everytime.service
          6.758s systemd-udev-settle.service
          6.202s ModemManager.service
          6.043s upower.service
          5.889s network.service
          5.634s dev-sda3.device

I find the main issue with the loading of userspace - login into PLASMA and all, taking so much time

No. Hijacking of other peoples threads is disregarded, hence I've split this into a separate thread.

I think disabling mandriva-everytime shouldn't cause you many issues and would save about 5 seconds.

Networking looks... a bit long.

Are you running off a hdd?

oh, I am sorry, I did not mean to hijack but I thought since my issue is same as OP, I dont want to flood with a new thread, from now on, I will start my own threads !

I will disable mandriva-everytime and yes I am running HDD not SSD but it seems the more time takes to reach the graphical target

Code: Select all
graphical.target reached after 56.183s in userspace

is this related to KDE ?

Nice. Now try printing. Or switching to a tty, or attaching removable storage, or using your firewall.

I dont have a printer so I dont need any printing related services, I have a single user laptop so that part is also ok. I have disabled firewall already. I dont have a usb storage device but my USB mouse is working fine so far. But I need to optimize my battery/power usage further

I know, I know :) The boot is almost done, and the power / energy as well. I guess.
