[SOLVED]Update issues with mesa/32 bit libraries

Postby kilgoretrout » May 26th, '20, 16:11

Tried to do an update today and kept getting this error message:
The following packages have to be removed for others to be upgraded:
libdri-drivers-20.0.6-1.mga7.i586
(due to unsatisfied mesa == 20.0.6)
libmesagl1-20.0.6-1.mga7.i586
(due to unsatisfied libdri-drivers >= 20.0.6-1.mga7)

If you click on the "yes" button to proceed packages are downloaded and I get this error when installation is attempted:
Code: Select all
Installation failed, bad rpms:

Try to continue anyway?

If I click on the "yes" button I get the following error message:
2 installation transactions failed

There was a problem during the installation:

libGL.so.1 is needed by (installed) libmesaglu1-9.0.0-8.mga7.i586

libGL.so.1 is needed by (installed) libSDL1.2_0-1.2.15-23.1.mga7.i586

libmesagl1 is needed by (installed) steam-1.0.0.61-1.mga7.nonfree.x86_64

Not sure what's going on. Is this a problem with the mirrors, i.e. "bad rpm" error message or is there some incompatibility with the installed 32 bit libraries I need for wine/gaming? Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be welcome.

According to http://mirrors.mageia.org/status the mirror you're using seems to be old or broken.
I'd suggest to either way a day or two, or otherwise remove all repositories and configure a new set of repositories from a different mirror:
See https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Installing_a ... dia_Mirror and the bullet point above that.
