[SOLVED] EFI boot entries

I switch between Mageia and Windows a lot. Unfortunately, there are a couple of Windows apps that I really need.

In my 'BIOS' I have a number of history entries like the following:

Code: Select all
Boot0075* UEFI: WDC WD1600AAJS-00PSA0, Partition 1

They not only create a long list to scroll through, but the useful entries are scattered among them. The numbers are hexadecimal. With efibootmgr, I can delete the entries, but only one at a time. I half recall that once I found a way not to generate these lines, but I never found it again.

Is there a procedure, or is this perhaps hardware-specific?

It might help if you would add some information what mainboard model you use etc.

Mainboard is a GeForce GA-H170M-D3H with an Intel CORE i5-6400 2.70GHZ CPU and 8 GB RAM. It may be obsolete: the manual was printed in 2015. BIOS updates no longer work. Dual booting with Windows 10.

You probably mean Gigabyte GA-H170M-D3H.

It might help if you would post the complete efibootmgr output.

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you.

I have just installed a new mobo (Gigabyte B365M-D3H). It has solved this problem - only the boot order is displayed. It has solved a Windows bug as well: when I tell Windows to shut down, it does shut down, instead of rebooting.
