[SOLVED] VirtualBox errors

Postby RVDowning » Oct 24th, '11, 20:13

After the system updated VirtualBox last night, today I can't bring up XP within VirtualBox. I get the following:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine WindowsXP.
Implementation of the USB 2.0 controller not found!
Because the USB 2.0 controller state is part of the saved VM state, the VM cannot be started. To fix this problem, either install the 'Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack' or disable USB 2.0 support in the VM settings (VERR_NOT_FOUND).
Unknown error creating VM (VERR_NOT_FOUND).

The VB update moved me to 4.0.14. I see an extension pack for 4.0.12 but not for 4.0.14. I can try the one for 4.0.12 to see if it works. It also doesn't indicate how to install it. Any ideas?

Grab the 4.0.14 Extension-Pack here

http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualb ... ox-extpack

To install it just double-click on the file. VB will start then and guide you through the process.
Here it works flawlessly ...

cheers,
Bernd
