[Solved] Unwanted mount at Plasma Start

Postby fmolina2b » Feb 27th, '20, 19:02

Hi all,
I am having a small issue at Plasma start. After logging in, when the KDE environment is starting, I am greeted with a dialog box telling that to mount "WDC WD10EZEX-08M (/dev/sdb1)" entering password is needed. Now /deb/sdb1 is a partition that I keep spare to test OSes (not often) in the real machine after doing in a VM. It is not mounted most of the time; in fact, I can't remember the last time I mounted it (usually I switch the order of disks in BIOS). it is not supposed to mount automatically, and I do not want it to be. But I cannot find where is the origin of this. Not a problem, just a nuisance, but shouldn't happen.
Any clue will be appreciated.

I use plasma (kde 5). And would like not mounting automatically this partition. Somewhere is set to do that but I can't find where.

Check the device notifier applet, right-click it to check removable media settings which contains the devices that should be automatically mounted.
You can also run the KCM module directly via
Code: Select all
kcmshell5 device_automounter_kcm

Bingo!, that showed "Install al removable devices" checked, unchecked it, checked those wanted and problem solved.
Thank you
