[Solved] old mandriva bugs, bugtracker ?

Postby nikos » Jan 28th, '20, 00:51

Hi,
is there the Mandriva's old bugtracker available somewhere?
Some archived online version maybe?

I have an old printer that I am trying to revive.
I remember that there was something mentioned in the old bugtracker.

But, the printer, currently, isn't in the best of state, so it is most likely a hardware problem.

It's a long shot, I know...

I once gave away a broken printer.
Bought a new and it dit not work either.
After a while mocking with the OS, i realised the cable had gone bad...

IMHO the bugtracker is not available anymore. Although each bug has also basically been archived by several mailing archive portals, you can try searching for archives of the bugzilla mailinglist bugs@mandrivalinux.org
But it doesn't seem like those archives are available anymore. If you would mention the topic of the bug or your printer model or something more specific then maybe people could check their local mail archives, in case they got a mail for that one.

Thank you!!!

Never though to look there.
Right under my nose!

I searched my own e-mails  .
Here is what I 've found.
What I had reported back then.
I 'll post it here, just for reference,

Description of problem:
The recommended driver ( GhostScript + guteprint-ijs.5.0 )
for the " Epson Stylus Color 480 " printer
isn't working in my system.
Instead, I use the " CUPS + Guteprint v5.0.2 (en) "
which seems to work fine.

System:
Mandriva 2008.1
Epson Stylus Color 480
parallel:/dev/lp0

I think there was an even earlier bug on that printer.
But it doesn't really matter.
At least, now, I know the printer worked with this specific driver.
Solved!

Yes...
But I have two cables ;) .

One parallel, and one parallel to usb adapter.

And another parallel cable...

That's actually three cables... :?

Oh wait...

Why do I have two parallel cables?
I am too stingy to just have bought another...
Could it be that one isn't working?
Or was I not sure it worked?
arghhh
:?
