Unable to install some packages

Postby pkoneil1 » Jan 25th, '20, 02:01

That's it. I get into MCC and try to install an rpm listed and all I get is:
"Sorry, the following package cannot be selected:

- systemd-devel-241-8.4.mga7.x86_64"

What the ****? Why is it listed as available if I'm going to be denied the ability to install it. It isn't saying anything about dependencies, no indication whatsoever as to WHY I cannot install this rpm. It just won't let me.

I NEED to install this listed rpm to build some src.rpms. Am I going to have to do some kind of forcing the rpm system to install it?

Sometimes packages are changed pr pulled for naming errors or bugs etc. Sometimes it's a server error.

Try updating your repos. Go to "Configure media sources for install and update".
Then click File > Update

You'll get a popup and you need to click "Select all" and then click "Update".
It forces it to read the server and update your list.
That should fix it. If it doesn't you may try changing repos.
I had a bad repo with damaged or missing packages cause me a lot of problems one time.
Switching to a repo with good files fixed it.

Good Luck!

It will tell you why if you use urpmi --debug to install it.
