I have installed Mageia and it has a small update glitch, probably me not choosing the right things in Mageia update; whenever I install updates, it keeps telling me I cannot update:

imagemagick-7.0.8.62-1.mga7.tainted.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied libde265)
- lib64avcodec58-4.1.4-1.mga7.tainted.x86_64 (due to unsatisfied libx264.so.155()(64bit))

So I have ticked something wrong in the Mageia control center, but what?

I have read the guide about it and am still puzzled. Can someone help me?

You're missing at least the following repositories:

Tainted Release
Core 32bit Release
Nonfree 32bit Release
Tainted 32bit Release

Best remove all repositories, as you also got some duplicates there and then readd a full set. Please do the following as root

urpmi.removemedia -a
drakrpm-edit-media

-> File -> Add a specific media mirror -> choose one of the FTP mirrors near your location.

Or do it from the command-line, in the example I'm using ftp.snt.utwente.nl

How could I have obtained that information myself; how did you know?

Well, it happens quite often that people end up with an incomplete set of repositories for various reasons, which leads to unsatisfied dependencies for basic packages.
The other reason would be if the mirror you are using is currently syncing and not consistent itself, but that is usually only a temporary issue and should sort itself after a few hours or a day.
