kde and xfce do not like each other

I use the Plasma interface by default, but there are machines where I installed Xfce. I put it on my own machine too, but it just won't start.
But this is not entirely accurate. It works as a guest.

If I copy the config files created in the guest account to the appropriate locations in my home directory (rights, every*) and overwrite existing ones, it will not work for me. What should I watch?

It's a big pig to create a new user for this.

Could you be more specific? What happens as your regular user ?

The top and bottom panels are displayed. The mouse just spins. No wallpaper.
Clicking on the top left menu button displays the menu but no longer responds to it.
It does not remove any windows that appear.
Missing colorful header in menu bar. (File Edit etc)
It does not start any program. Only exits, performs logins.

(sorry for the late post, late to the party. again)

how did you add your Xfce DE to your Plasma DE?

Can only one desktop interface be installed on a computer? Or maybe more?
If you install more, you can choose which one you want to use at login.
But this topic has become obsolete because, I put an SSD in the machine and did a new installation, but I just put up the Plasma interface.

WRT Mageia, absolutely more than one.
I often run multiple DE installs, (up to 8) and choose the DE at login, look for a "gearwheel" or "pen/paper" symbol, depends on the DM (Display Manager).

I install multiple DEs so that I dont have to switch between DE for a specific application, i.e: Dolphin / Thunar / Nemo / PCmanFM,; Mousepad / leafpad / kwrite... etc
as they have different functions / strengths / weaknesses.
Or, for a change, I will log in to a different DE.
My preferred DE are KDE/Plasma and XFCE
