Advanced Mate Menu seems broken

I just installed ver 7 on a laptop and it seems to have a bit of a flaw. The Advanced Mate menu returns an error:

Code: Select all
Traceback (most recent call last):

  File "/usr/lib/mate-menu/mate-menu.py", line 202, in PopulatePlugins
    exec("from {plugin_module} import pluginclass".format(plugin_module=plugin_module))

  File "<string>", line 1, in <module>

  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/mate_menu/plugins/applications.py", line 38, in <module>
    import matemenu

ImportError: No module named matemenu

On the desktop it looks like this:

mate bad menu.png

Information in the Mint forums seems to point to a bug, but I installed 7 on another laptop and it's fine. Any idea how I might go about troubleshooting this?

Thanks.

Mark

That is a fresh mga7 installation ? How did you install mate, via task-mate ? And what about the regular mate applications menu, does that work normally ?

edit: Just checked, and advanced mate menu is not working here either on a fresh install. You should probably report a bug for that.
