[SOLVED] MCC won't open

This problem started right after I installed a printer. Ever since, I am unable to open MCC. If I click the icon on the desktop, the authentication window opens, I type in the root password, then nothing happens. Systemd logs:

Code: Select all
Nov 19 01:36:37 linux.local polkitd[880]: Operator of unix-session:2 successfully authenticated as unix-user:root to gain TEMPORARY authorization for action org.mageia.drakconf.pkexec.run for unix-process:2694:4943 [/usr/bin/perl /usr/bin/drakconf] (owned by unix-user:z)
Nov 19 01:36:37 linux.local pkexec[2698]: pam_unix(polkit-1:session): session opened for user root by (uid=1000)
Nov 19 01:36:37 linux.local pkexec[2698]: z: Executing command [USER=root] [TTY=unknown] [CWD=/home/z] [COMMAND=/usr/libexec/drakconf]
Nov 19 01:36:38 linux.local drakconf[2698]: ### Program is starting ###
Nov 19 01:36:48 linux.local tracker-store[2400]: OK
Nov 19 01:36:48 linux.local systemd[2181]: tracker-store.service: Succeeded.
Nov 19 01:36:50 linux.local systemd[1]: systemd-hostnamed.service: Succeeded.
Nov 19 01:36:59 linux.local su[2921]: (to root) z on pts/0
Nov 19 01:36:59 linux.local su[2921]: pam_unix(su:session): session opened for user root by (uid=1000)

And yet, there's no MCC, just the desktop. I uninstalled the printer and CUPS, since that was the only thing I changed before this problem appeared, and it made no difference. I'm using MATE.

Can you please post the output of
Code: Select all
hostnamectl

This is probably the same issue as in viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13058 - please read the explanation and also the links there.
The fix is to set a proper hostname once, and that's it. If that doesn't help, please provide the output of the commands that I've asked for in the other thread, thanks in advance.
