Finally SOLVED: Upgrade to 7.1 using disk fails

I downloaded and burned an install disk.
I made sure I was up to date on 6.1 and then ran the install disk as an upgrade.
The first error was when I tried to add an http mirror and got the error that the /usr/lib64/rpm-plugins/systemd_inhibit.so from mga6 was incompatible with mga7 package and that failed.
I then tried to install with just the disk media and that failed with a message that 56 packages were incompatible and the whole install failed.

Online install is not recommended and now the disk upgrade seems not to work. Is my only option a fresh install? I am not inclined to do that having carefully tuned my 6.1 install and dont want to spend hours recreating it all.
what, if anything can I do about the errors?

Because it says "Warning" Not yet available on the site https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_7_Rel ... e_Internet.
While there is a description below that of how to do it, that warning makes me shy away from doing it. If it is safe to do, then remove the warning.

Also, both links in the instructions for installing via the GUI don't work!

Also, my .MgaOnline is empty, my system is up to date, and I have rebooted and I have not gotten any message from MGAOnline that 7.1 is available. So from my perspective teh instructions do not seem to work.

I was finally able to get mgaapplet to function and I upgraded to 7.1 but with some problem.
7.1 installed the nvidia driver but it installed the latest which did not support my graphics card. It took me a while and some searching to discover this, remove the 420 driver and reinstall the 390 driver and reboot to a working xwindow system.
Shouldn't the install detect the card and install the correct driver?

Yes, that is because the upgrade via MGAOnline has not been enabled yet.
