Problem with pango affecting acroread after latest update

I'm using Mageia 7, regularly updated. After the latest update (kernel included, amongst other things), my very old and trusty google-desktop-linux, as well as Acrobat Reader and SeaMonkey all refuse to launch, emitting the compmplaint:
I tried to find a solution on the Net, but it seems as if it's a case-by-case situation. So, I'm currently at a loss...
Any ideas?! Please?!
