Unable to install ODA File Converter

I am trying to install the ODA File converter from the repository in Mageia6.
I keep getting the error
Code: Select all
due to unsatisfied TD_3DSolidHistory.tx()
and I cannot find how to fix this.
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean the package you can download from this site?

https://www.opendesign.com/guestfiles/o ... _converter

Unfortunately I couldn't find anything to fix the missing dependency, not even for the supported distros. I've tried installing the trial package without dependencies, with the command

Code: Select all
urpmi --allow-nodeps ODAFileConverter_QT5_lnxX64_4.7dll.rpm

and the program launches, but I don't know how to check if it actually works.

If that doesn't work for you, you could try using FreeCAD, which I've heard can import files the ODA File Converter can parse

Thank you for your help.
I got it installed per your instructions. I was trying to use FreeCAD and it requires ODA to import DWG files, but it fails to work. Appreciate your help
As an aside, I tried to get onto the ODA forum, but it says it is closed to registration.

Please add some clarification on that. What fails to work, FreeCAD or the import with ODA ? Is there some error message, if you run FreeCAD from a terminal?

You could also ask in the FreeCAD forums: https://forum.freecadweb.org/

Thank you. I was trying to run the ODA FileConverter within FreeCAD to open DWG files. but every time I tried in FreeCAD to import a DWG file the import failed. I then ran the ODA converter from console and it did create a DXF file but it could not import into FreeCAD. I tried to create various versions of the DXF but none could be imported. They either failed to import, or looked like a jumbled mess. I tried the FreeCAD forum, but not very helpful.

At this point I am not going to pursue further. I will try some other DWG files when I have time. I already tried a number of files that I downloaded from the web, but have not been able to create any useful DXF file.

I appreciate everyone's help, but I don't want anyone wasting any more time on it now. Thank you
