MGA 7 laptops suspend and hibernation

I have couple laptops, some of them having problems waking up.
Let start from old Asus K55N, recently I have updated it from MGA5 to be able run draftsight 2019. There was no problem with suspend and hibernation running MGA5.
Now none of them works, screen is black after resuming, computer reacts to Caps Lock and Num Lock (leds), but screen stays black in both cases of suspend and hibernation, on MGA5 I was using proprietary driver now is Xorg, that may be a problem, but I have HP pro book with MGA6 and Xorg driver that works correctly.
The other two laptops with some how similar setup are Asus GL520 and Lenovo Legion Y530, both on mageia-prime Nvidia driver, and here everything is fine on Asus with MGA6, but same black screen on Lenovo using hibernation, suspend works fine, although hybrid that supposedly should work as suspend unless there are no more power is same as hibernation.
The only laptop that is hibernating correctly with MGA7 is HP Envy with hardware similar to Asus GL520 but somehow it can not boot to X with mageia-prime (can switch to it with -z option, but will nor booth later) so it is working on Intel graphics.
In addition - It is not Mageia itself- new Plasma even compering to MGA6 is not really nice, on older lower resolution Asus K55N, all dialogs (like system settings) are way to big, changing icon sizes just adding space around them not bringing them closer so application window takes almost whole screen.

Re: MGA 7 laptops screen scaling

there is an option under plasma settings, display and monitor, scale display
this will adjust the size of widgets in relation to fonts.
however on some displays it only likes rounded up numbers.
and will tear with 1.7 for example.
but its not much use if you only have 1280x800 or lower.
instead set the following in your accounts .bashrc

Code: Select all
QT_SCALE_FACTOR=0.75
export QT_SCALE_FACTOR

i must admit, though in trying this suggestion myself i found that it made fonts in menus etc very small so would need other adjustments
as well to bring it all true.

this came from the following article which also supports that fonts are the only way to go.

Thank You for this suggestion, I will have to play with numbers, so far (I tried .75 and .95 also I looked and found other scaling settings) the widgets are scaled somehow correctly, but the panels are completely off to point not being usable.

Same hibernation problem here with an ASUS X75V which worked fine with Mageia 6. I didn't try suspend.

Please don't hijack other threads, create a separate thread for your issue, and at least add the basic information like which graphics driver/card you're using.

From one side you are right doktor5000, but from another if you spread this kind of issue for many threads it is not going to be seen as bigger problem, but just some single cases.
Since there was not single response to this issue, and I have issue on practically all laptops with MGA7 I do not know if I'am just being so unlucky, or others are not using this features for laptops, or just not so many upgraded to MGA7 if they have MGA6 running.

The problem is when someone simply adds a "me too" post to some existing thread as it might sound similar, without providing any actual details about your setup, that's not gonna help anybody, it just adds clutter.
