[SOLVED] How to install GDB

Hello!

I have just installed Mageia 7. It's my first experience of Linux and I am a little lost.

My question is relative to GDB debugger. I have installed MSEide (an IDE for the Free Pascal compiler). When I try to execute a program, the IDE says that it cannot find GDB. Is GDB already installed? If yes, where to find it? If no, how to install it?

I tried to download it but I found only source code and didn't manage to compile it. I don't even know if there is a C compiler on my PC.

I read in Mageia 7 description that there is a C compiler included, but I have no idea where to find it.

I know things can seem a bit daunting at first but you will soon find your way around and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.
When you are looking for software your first port of call should be the Software Management section in the Mageia Control Center
You'll find 99+% of what you want in there.

There is a good document on it at:

There is a package "gdb" in there that I suspect is what you want (as mentioned in the link you will need to change the filter from "Packages with GUI" to "All" to be able to find this).

Thank you. In the Software Management section of the Mageia Control center, I found this.

lib64gdbm_compat4
wireless-regdb

I am not sure that this is what I am looking for. Anyway thank you for the indication and for the link.

The Mageia Control center is awesome! I didn't expect so many applications available on a simple click.

I installed many things and apparently I also installed GDB.
