Is there a known issue with the kernel 4.14.89-server-1.mga6 stuff?

Maybe some more information on the affected machine, and is there also some actual issue besides that message?

Check maybe https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... bug=914967 and https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugrepo ... bug=918322

It is a Fujitsu dual Xeon (E5-2687W v3) workstation. Except for the error message I am not aware of other issues, yet.

Well, you mentioned the processor, what about the chipset etc. ?
But after all, it's your issue - if you only provide that much information, chances are much lower for others to be able to help remotely ...

So this is an X99 chipset, hence see the links to the mentioned bugreports above. You should probably raise a bugreport, so that the appropriate patches can be added to our systemd/udev packages.
