Mageia 6 USB doesn't boot

On my Lenovo desktop, Mageia 6, does not boot from the USB stick, whereas Mint does. I wonder if it needs UEFI, I think I put my desktop to the older system.

Using Disks in Mint, I dumped the ISO onto the stick, but it was interrupted and I had to start again. Right now both Mint and Mageia are plugged in and it boot from Mint. And im Mint the USB stick looks right, I can open and see the files. Is there something I don't know?

Correctly implemented, both UEFI and non-UEFI computers boot Mageia. Have you tried if your stick works on other computers?

Several computers are buggy. If the problematic computer's "BIOS"setting support it you can try to select boot mode to old style.

More exactly what computer / main board / firmware vendor are you using?

The question is also how the USB was written.

try mints' USB writer tool: *USB-image-writer*, as it is meant to be used for usb .iso image writing.

*Disks* is not a programme I have used, but a quick Google search shows it is a disk management tool

gnome-disks also allows to write images to ... wait for it ... disks ;)
It's also one of the few that offers partitioning tasks for regular users, like formatting flash drives and so on, so you don't need to use CLI for such things.
