Laptop MSI GF63 8RC - Please add suport for it too!

hi all!

i just received, as a gift, a rather cheap laptop...the MSI GF63 8 RC (i7 Coffee lake, 8 ddr4, 1 tb hdd + 1 tb ssd m.2, GeForce 1050 4 gb ddr5).

but i noticed that mageia 6 has big issues with it!

the install goes as plannet, but afterwards, it wont boot into it!

even with "acpi=off" parameter, it sill wont boot!

it gets stuck at an error: "Fixing recursive fault but reboot is needed"

Please add support for this laptop too!
Thanks

Hi cosmin1981 .

You probably need a later kernel.
not on mageia 6 at the moment (4.14 series), but Cauldron has 4.19.1-desktop-2.mga7 (4.19 series)

I would not normally suggest this but try a Cauldron non-free net-install and see if that improves things.
check with https://mirrors.mageia.org/status to locate an up-to-date localish cauldron and Mga6 mirror.
then during the first part of the install, choose http and that mirror, and edit the release from /6/ to /cauldron/ and then continue as a normal installation.
a wired lan and connected to the power are a good idea.
yesterday, for me, such an install took nearly 3 hrs, but see where I am.

you should also create a bug report and link it to this thread.
