Anyone attempted install of php7-fpm in Mageia6?

My understanding is that Mageia is either not interested in providing this functionality or is being discouraged from doing so within the community. I have been running openSUSE Tumbleweed, and very successfully, in my private development projects, but was quickly impressed with the beauty and efficiency of the forthcoming Mageia 6. The 2 distros have a common heritage in many ways.

If you have attempted to install php7 from source, I'd very much appreciate any feedback you might care to share. Might as well shoot for the top if I can.

Why do you think so? The problem is if there are no contributors working on that, then those packages will not add themselves automagically to Mageia repos, and they will also no maintain themselves.
Are you volunteering to become a PHP packager maintainer?

For some more information on php7 in that context, check viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11980
