[SOLVED] VirtualBox USB

USB was working fine for me on Mandriva 2010

However, with Mageia 1, I can't get access to my USB devices whatever I do. I have installed the USB extension pack and set the filters to allow my devices, but they are still all greyed out as if my user was not part of the vboxusers group, but I am.

Has anyone else seen this?

Try the following:

Edit /etc/group

You should add your user to

vboxusers
usb
lp

For example the usb-line looks here like this

Code: Select all
usb:x:43:bernd

Reboot and try again. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Bernd

Thanks Bernd. Adding my user to lp and usb groups, as well as it already being in vboxusers, has fixed the problem.
