I have uninstalled this twice from two DVD's taken I believe from two separate downloads.

Plasma 5 was fine (ignoring its inherent deficiencies) but Cinnamon crashes on started inviting one to try again, which achieves nothing.
I have mentioned this on the Mageia newsgroup but no comments so far.

Have you enabled updates repos and made a full system update?

What graphics card and what driver are you using?

Also, what do the journalctl logs say if it does not start up?

boot options for Cinnamon should have 2 entries.
one is for full 3d acceleration, other is cpu rendering mode.
does the problem occur on both?
