I am curious. I am trying to compile FreeCAD and it cuts out with an error that it cannot find libmed which is supplied by MEDFile. On the FreeCAD forum they suggest getting it from another distro. I have searched on line and cannnot find any file in the Mageia repositories that match this. Even when I search online for MEDFile the only reference is to the FreeCAD forum. Otherwise all links about MEDFile are to medical application. Does anyone here have any idea if Mageia has the file libmed and libmedc?

No we don't have that, and most other distros also don't have it, except maybe Arch or Gentoo.

Why do you want to compile it? We have it packaged, and you can also run a later version as appimage. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=12200
