This might be a silly question. I've got a chilliblast micro with an Atom CPU and Windows 10 on the SSD. I want to replace Win 10 with M6 How do I get into the BIOS

Maybe better check the manual or ask Chillblast ? Usually it's either del, f2 or f12 keys ...

Wish it was that easy, time was when CTRL,ALT,DEL worked every time but since then it's only been getting harder. And manufacturers supplying a manual that would assume that they want us users to do more than turn it on.

Well, maybe you want to think again what products you're buying. If the manufacturer does not even provide basic documentation, then that should be a no go. But it seems you also didn't ask them ...
But I've also not seen any system where it becomes harder over time to get into the BIOS. Also not sure what you're referring to but ctrl+alt+del usually initiates a reboot, there's no relation with getting into BIOS.

When I ordered it I hoped it would have better documentation. Then saying if they tell me, I might want to buy a lot more to make a Beowulf cluster. That platform seems ideal for that. I don't mean any particular system would get harder, just the short-cut to get in on newer boards is more complicated. DEL on boot then f1 on boot, more recently I hear It can take a few fingers. CTRL, ALT DEL does as you say initiates a restart but then if you kept the DEL key down throughout the restart the bios would appear. Up to now I've discovered that f10 opens a console unfortunately the the OS is Windows.
The bios short-cut will turn out to be keys you can hold down with one hand,, but you'll have to know it. Someone on this forum might know it it's worth asking.

del or F2 seems to be the most common for bios entry

f8 for boot device selection

looks just like my zotek zbox's that i use for Kodi/libreelec only, as thats all they are useful for.

a rasberrypie 3 would be faster

I've tried them thanks Chillblast seems to be unusual. The box is small and I can use all my old screen and such. It uses an Intel atom chip at 1.92 MHz so it should be quite quick once I get Linux on the SSD.

Look carefully at which CPU and BIOS/UEFI that CPU has, many of the late Atom's are 64 bit processor with 32 bit UEFI. Installs can be done, but can be messy.

I'm going to close this thread now as I've given the Cillblast and moved to Gigabyte micro instead
