Firefox update installing unchecked components

When I started my computer today and went to the software management option, there was an update to Firefox, along with 3 English-language packs, Great Britain, USA and South Africa. Since I live in the USA and don't need language support for Great Britain or South Africa, I unchecked the box beside those two options. However, when I went to install the updates, the summary screen showed that all three language packs would be installed.
Is this normal for Firefox on Mageia, or am I missing something?

This basically depends on what locales packages are installed, for all variants the language pack is pulled automatically. Can you show the output of
Code: Select all
rpm -qa|sort|grep locales

Ho korfuntu,

I have the same - after a new install, ZA is always offered as part of Firefox updates.
to permanently stop this ZA update, I need to remove the ZA language package.
So for you, you will need to remove both ZA and possible GB Firefox language packages.
this is easily done through Mageia Software Management.

best regards

[david@localhost ~]$ rpm -qa|sort|grep locales
locales-2.22-7.mga6
locales-en-2.22-7.mga6
[david@localhost ~]$

That is an old ghost... For explanation see Bug 20904 - firefox-en_ZA-52.1.0-1.mga6 installed by default

As benmc say, simply uninstall firefox-en_ZA
