Terminal window disappears after a few minutes on M6

With the last update, my terminal window is now disappearing. Every time I bring up a terminal, it exits after a few minutes.

You may want to add at least what desktop environment and what terminal emulator you're using.
Also, if you start that terminal emulator from a different terminal emulator, do you see any error message when the terminal window exits?

XFCE. No errors in /var/log/messages. I installed xterm, but I started it from a terminal window. Both died.

You should run the xfce terminal from the xterm, sounds like you did it the other way around.

Also /var/log/messages is only populated if you have syslog-ng or rsyslog installed and the forwarding from journald to plain old syslog is configured.
